Affection & attachment 🦐

Last summer pumpkin said she wanted a pet for her birthday gift.
去年の夏、パンプキンは誕生日にペットが欲しいと言いました。

But realistically we couldn’t get a dog or cat, so we compromised and got a little aquarium tank.
でも現実的に犬や猫を飼うことは難しかったので、妥協して水槽を置くことにしました。
(realistically = 現実的に
compromise = 妥協、譲歩　ビジネス場面だけでなく使えます)

Bought some cute cherry shrimps.
可愛いチェリーシュリンプを買いました。

But keeping the condition of water is pretty difficult!!!
でも、お水の状態を保つのって難しいんですね！！

Papa pumpkin and pumpkin are in charge for taking care of our home aquarium.
パパパンプキンとパンプキンが我が家の水槽のお世話役です。
(in charge of = 〜のが責任がある)

We actually failed on our first trial and sadly lost some shrimpies and fishies 😞😭
実を言うと、最初に作った水槽は失敗してしまい、エビちゃんとお魚ちゃんを数匹失いました。

So they studied from the book and now they have successfully keeping the aquarium nice and beautiful!!!
なので2人は本から学習し、今回は水槽をいい感じに綺麗に保つことに成功しました。

We welcomed some cherry shrimps and named them.
新しいチェリーシュリンプさん達をお迎えしました。

I believe that when you give names to anything, you feel more attached and feel affection towards them.
これは私の考え方ですが、何でも名前をつけると繋がりが出来て、愛着が生まれる気がします。

So we named our shrimpies.
なので、エビちゃんにも名前を付けました。

Last survivor : surviving all alone since the fist aquarium. Strong one🥺

Cherry : red little calm shrimp☺️
チェリー:落ち着いた赤いエビちゃん❤️

Mikan : cute orange shrimp, a bit shy 🙈
ミカン: 可愛いいオレンジ色のエビちゃん、恥ずかしがりやちゃん🧡

Umi : blue shrimp likes to swim around😆
うみ: 泳ぐのが好きなブルーのエビちゃん💙

Sky : smaller blue shrimp, looks like a baby still😙
スカイ: 小ちゃい青いエビちゃん、まだ赤ちゃんみたい💙

Banana : yellow cute shrimp so bright and sparkly🤩
バナナ: 可愛い黄色いエビちゃん。明るくてキラキラ💛

Skeleton :clear shrimp that’s always trying to escape from the tank!!! 😱
スケルトン: 透明なエビちゃん、常に水槽から逃げようとしやがる子🤍

Wally : red and clear stripy shrimp. Looks like the character Wally😂
ウォーリー: 赤と透明のストライプ柄、ウォーリーみたいな子❤️‍🩹

Black diamond : solid black and shiny shrimp. Looks like it’s got dignity 😎
ブラックダイアモンド:真っ黒でツヤがあるエビちゃん。威厳を持っている感じ🖤
(solid = しっかりとした
今回であれば、solid black は、とても黒いという意味です。他にも”She’s solid”っと言えば、「彼女はしっかりとした子」という風にも使えます。)
